Letters to our Children | June

My girl,

We have had a whirlwind these past few months. Thankfully, you have taken everything is stride. Your mommy went back to work for a freelance assignment, you finished preschool and springtime has started to get so very busy!

I was looking at this photo of you, your first and last days of preschool and I can’t believe how much you have changed and grown! You look so much less baby and so much more like a little big girl. You had such a wonderful first experience with school. Your teacher was great and the school you went to was just a perfect fit for you! However, next year you will be moving on to public school. After MUCH thought, debate and prayer, we have decided that instead of kindergarten, Young 5’s would be a good idea for you. You are so so bright but giving another year for you to just be little is such a gift for you. You have been a little sad that you won’t be going to “real” kindergarten next year like all of your friends but hopefully you can trust our decision and it will be best for you in the long run. Your mommy started kindergarten at 4 and struggled with always being the youngest. You won’t have these issues and you are going to love your new school, teachers and friends!

You have started insisting on doing so many things on your own. You want to get yourself dressed in the morning and I love to see the outfits you put together. You can get a snack all by yourself too, which is probably why I’ve noticed we have had a lot of cheese missing from the fridge lately :0.

I am so looking forward to this summer with you! We have so many fun things planned and you are going to have the best time! You’re turning 5 in a couple of weeks and you have been talking about your 5th birthday for about 9 months now so we are going to have some fun things planned for you!

I love you so much, sweetie pie!

Love, Mommy

  1. Love the photos in the field!

Whenever I look back at the first/last day of school pictures I get sad at how quickly they have changed. She will thank you for sending her to the Young 5’s next year! We did the same thing here and it was the best decision. 🙂
